NALCOMIS Interface Approved by HQMC & CNAF (Posted 15 Jan 08)
A joint USN/USMC message was released on 15 Jan 08 providing
formal endorsement of the FIST interface used to transfer NAVFLIR data one-way
from both SHARP and M-SHARP over to NALCOMIS (including both legacy and
optimized) using a 3.5" floppy disk. The message also requested that Commander
of Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) expedite the enhancement of this
interface in order to further streamline data flow and eliminate the need for
3.5" diskettes and all forms of portable media.
Fielding Schedule (Updated as required)
Units returning from deployment will receive training upon return by coordinating with thier local M-SHARP
